Vera Cruz Homecoming

Annual event set for Aug. 17

Vera Cruz will host its 73rd annual homecoming celebration Aug. 17 in Mystic Chain Park, 3718 Main Road East.

The event will be held noon to 8 p.m. A cakewalk is scheduled 3:15 p.m.

Food, including roasted corn on the cob and beverages will be available.

DJ Cesar Rosario, Toast of the Town, will broadcast live from the park 3-5 p.m.

Musical entertainment will feature The Rehrig Brothers, who perform classic country music, noon to 3 p.m. The band TimeWhys, specializing in the music of the 1960s and 1970s, will perform 5-8 p.m.
