Fire company awarded equipment grant

In a recent news release, state Rep. Milou Mackenzie, R-131st, announced Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. 1 will receive $89,890 in Local Share Account grant funding.

The grant will support the purchase and installation of critical fire equipment to benefit residents of the 131st Legislative District, according to the release.

The funding will be used to purchase hoses, nozzles and connections to outfit the volunteer fire company’s new fire truck, according to the news release.

“This project will help the department replace aging apparatus and enhance its ability to provide reliable and effective fire safety services to the community,” the news release continues.

The Local Share Account program is funded by gaming revenue and administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The LSA program provides grants to support community improvement projects across Pennsylvania.
