Golf tournament debuts Sept. 15

Valley Youth House, an organization providing services for vulnerable youth in Central Pennsylvania, will host its first Central Region Golf Tournament at Hershey Country Club, 1000 East Derry Road, Hershey, Sept. 15.

Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit youth and families in Pennsylvania who are in the foster care system, or are experiencing homelessness, housing instability and other hardships.

Valley Youth House provides programs such as street outreach, crisis intervention, supportive housing, therapeutic counseling and life skills training, according to organizers.

The tournament is presented by Capital Blue Cross.

A golf reservation includes:

•18 holes of golf with cart

•Cocktail and dinner reception

•Chances for other prizes

Two foursomes will win a trip on a private jet to play golf at the Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, Va. Sept. 29. The prize, called the Jet Away Package, is sponsored by financial services company Truist.
