Buffs drop two games to rival Trojans
After a nine-day stretch of days off, North Parkland finally got back onto the field this week.
Unfortunately for the Buffaloes, they had to face their foes from South Parkland in a pair of games and dropped both of those games.
The Buffaloes fell to the Trojans 12-0 in the first of the two games and then lost 6-2 in Tuesday’s game.
In the first game, the long layoff resulted in some rust on the bats of the Buffaloes as they collected just two hits in the game.
Meanwhile, the Trojans were feeling good about their offensive output and banged out seven hits. Brady Derr had two hits and drove in four runs for South Parkland and Nicholas Bowser drove in a pair of runs, as well. Leo Dauberman and Nate Unger picked up a hit each for North Parkland.
The Buffaloes (6-4) had seven hits in the second game with Peyton Scherff getting two of them. On the mound, Dauberman spread out two earned runs over three innings for North Parkland.
The Southern Lehigh team folded recently, so the three remaining games between the Spartans and Buffaloes will all go down as wins by forfeit for North Parkland. It also allows for a couple extra days off for the team over the last week of the season.
There are two games remaining on the schedule against Lower Macungie (5-5), a team that appears to be coming alive late in the season. North Parkland takes a short trip up 309 to play Northern Valley (5-4) and finishes the season next Thursday with a home doubleheader against Whitehall-Coplay (6-4).
