LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Wanderers will be busy

It will be a packed slate of games for the Wanderers down the home stretch of the NORCO Legion season.

With only four games under their belt heading into this week, thanks to Liberty’s late run in the PIAA tournament, the club will have plenty of action before they round out to next week’s conclusion of the regular season.

“Yes their long run in combination with this weather has made it all but impossible to take a day off,” said Wanderers head coach Paul Walsh. “We need to play almost every day from here on out. We have gotten used to this the last five years or so. But this is an extreme case between making it to the state semis and the rain we have had.”

The defending champs will look to pick up where they’ve left off the past few seasons, as a backed up schedule has been somewhat normal for the club with Liberty’s success on the high school diamond over the past few years.

“It’s a challenge, but one we are ready for,” said Walsh. “Can’t control the weather or when you start the season. We can only control what we do on the field and what is in front of us.”

The Wanderers were 2-2 to start the week after losing to Northampton on Sunday 7-2.

They face Hellertown on Wednesday before playing Northampton and East Stroudsburg over the weekend.
