Freemansburg is eying a playoff berth in NORCO Legion and they’ve kept themselves above water with a 3-2 mark after five games on the season.
After a 6-7-2 mark a year ago, the club is looking for more this summer.
“The outlook for this years team is for all players to play hard and aggressive and play to the best of their ability as well as play together,” said head coach Joseph Fancera. “They will play as a team and have each others back, and in doing this they will succeed as a team, as our final goal is to become a competitive playoff team.”
Returning players this year include Anthony Fancera, Matt Heineman, Michael Cobb, Randy Hodge, Ryan Kullman, Nate Warren, Santiago Rodriguez and Mason Ziobro.
Newcomers are Patrick Kiefner, Collin Andrews
Braeden Lichtenwalner, Angel Mercado, Gabe Solivan, Brian Renshaw and Andrew Sarkozy.
“Players to watch this season are Michael Cobb, both at shortstop and on the mound pitching,” said Fancera. “Collin Andrews covering center field and pitching from time to time is another player to watch.”
Freemansburg plays Hellertown, Northampton and Palmer this week.
Nazareth sits atop the standings with a 4-1 mark followed by Northampton sitting at 4-2.
