Frederick P. Ehrhardt Jr.

of South Whitehall Township

Frederick “Fritz” P. Ehrhardt Jr., 100, of South Whitehall Township, died in his home June 20, 2025. He was the loving husband of Ardella M. (Becker) Ehrhardt, and they celebrated 76 years of marriage Dec, 19, 2024. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick P. Sr. and Helen (Bush) Ehrhardt.

He graduated from Lafayette College in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from DeSales University on his 100th birthday March 20. He also received a commendation from the Senate of Pennsylvania in recognition of his 100th birthday.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and he was a senior mechanical engineer at Western Electric/AT&T for 35 years until retiring.

He was a member of Cedar Union Church, Cetronia.

He could fix or make almost anything and was happiest in his home surrounded by family and playing in his workshop or with his trains.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Phyllis Morgan and her husband, Lt. Col. Martin S. Morgan Jr. (retired), Frederick P. III, Kathleen L.; two granddaughters, Rebecca and her husband, Dustin Rosenburg and Rachel and her husband, James Cowan; four great-grandsons, Caleb Rosenburg, Colton Rosenburg, Ethan Cowan and Elliot Cowan.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Allentown.

Donations can be made in his honor to the DeSales University physician assistant program.
