Derek Lance DeLong, 46, of New Tripoli, died June 11, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Allentown Campus. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Kermit E. DeLong Jr. and Elaine S. (Smith) DeLong.

He graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School, Class of 2000. He was a member of Community Services Group for special needs for 23 years. He was a pioneer of The Little League Challenger Division beginning in 1989.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Brian S. (Beth), of Macungie, Chad M. (Amber), of Grand Junction, Colo; former sister-in-law, Cassie Rindock DeLong, of Alburtis; nephew, Liam J., of Alburtis; niece, Quinny, of Alburtis.

A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. July 12, at Hope Community Church, 7974 Claussville Road, Fogelsville. Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
