Trojan softball seniors left legacy

The Parkland High School softball team finished the 2025 year 9-10 overall and 8-8 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, missing the conference tournament and falling in their first District 11 tournament game, 3-0 to Whitehall.

“It was a tough year, but we can’t complain about the work ethic of the girls,” said head coach Barry Search. “Whitehall just had our number this year, all three games we lost to them were by three runs or less.”

The Trojans and Zephyrs met twice in the regular season and then the district game that ended Parkland’s campaign. They finished third in the Lehigh Division behind Emmaus (18-5, 14-2) and Whitehall (14-8, 13-3).

Parkland will graduate a large and talented senior class, including Allison Hunsberger, Chelsea Dietrick, Jinnelle Estevez, Emma Kushner, Amelia Dawson, Anna Belletieri, Aubrey Wilson, Scerena Reed and Maria Moore. It’s a group that brought the program its last trophy, the 2022 EPC gold medal and they will certainly be missed by Search and the program.

“This senior group has meant a lot to us coaches and their team the last four years,” Search said. “They have left their legacies and are leaving as winners both on the field and in the classroom. They will go on to do great things.”

Hunsberger led the lineup with a .420 batting average in 63 plate appearances, amassing 21 hits, scoring 17 runs and bringing in 12 RBIs. Ami Patel hit .405 with 17 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Elizabeth Pinkham had a .396 average with 19 hits, 14 runs scored and 12 RBIs. Belletieri finished with a .327 average, 17 hits, 18 runs scored and nine RBIs. Kushner hit .341 with 14 hits, nine RBIs and scored eight runs. Dawson recorded 12 hits, scored 12 runs and added eight RBIs with a .308 batting average. At the plate, Addison Fritzinger hit .308 with 12 hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored, while inside the circle she was 7-7 with a 3.75 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
