Three Emmaus softball players have been named to this year’s Carpenter Cup Classic team.

Rosters for the team were released last month and Hornet junior outfielder Taylor Hauver, junior catcher Abigail Derr and sophomore pitcher Mari Eisworth all earned a place on this year’s team, which will begin tournament play in Philadelphia next week.

The Carpenter Cup tournament, which is sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies and serves mostly as a college showcase for juniors and sophomores, brings together regional high school all-star teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The tournament begins with pool play Monday and Tuesday at FDR Park in Philadelphia and finishes with a playoff tournament Wednesday.

The LV Carpenter Cup team will play a pair of warm-up games Wednesday at Pates Park against Lehigh Valley senior all-star teams. It will face the Colonial League/East Penn Conference West All-Stars at 6 p.m. before taking on the CL/EPC East All-Stars at 7:45.

Emmaus seniors Sadie Haefeli and Avery DeFanti will both take the field for the West All-Star team.
