PHS girls lacrosse made return to postseason in 2025
The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team earned a spot in the District 11 3A tournament following the 2025 regular season.
It was the Trojans first time back in the postseason in two years. They lost in their first playoff game, a 12-8 quarterfinal round setback to Emmaus to end the season.
Parkland head coach Brittaney Costigan is excited for what her program accomplished this season, finishing with a 9-10 overall record and 3-5 mark in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, but she knows they can do and achieve more.
“We still did not go as far as we would have liked to this season, but we did begin to show we are not a team to be taken lightly,” said Costigan. “We were back in districts and it is something we are all proud of. This was a young group with a lot of talent that wanted to show they are a team to take seriously.”
Costigan enjoyed many parts of the season, especially when the student-athletes accomplished milestones.
“We had tons of highlights this season, many players hitting milestone goals, we had over 100 caused turnovers and over 500 ground balls as a team,” Costigan said. “We also had a unit that worked together. One of the highlights was just seeing the unit and bond they started to create this year.”
The Trojans will graduate eight seniors, including Mia De Pinho, Marina Galligani, Kate Generose, Anna Julia Madeira, Anna Sensinger, Cara Skrapits, Zoe Worchick and Ava Zarbatany.
“While we aren’t losing as many seniors as some other schools, we are losing some key contributors,” said Costigan. “This was my first group of players that were freshman when I started, and I got to see them all the way through. They were a presence on and off the field and there are some big shoes to fill.”
Sensinger led the attack with 50 goals and added nine assists, while collecting 38 ground balls. Addison Winfield totaled 34 goals and 22 assists with team-highs of 101 ground balls and 70 draw control wins. Lila Temchatin recorded 33 goals and 19 assists, bringing in 30 ground balls. Milla Hahn tallied 29 goals, 11 assists, 68 ground balls, 57 draw controls and forced a team-high 23 turnovers. Olivia Esteban finished with 21 goals, seven assists, 85 ground balls and won 75 draw controls. Samantha Schippell netted 15 goals and added two assists and 42 ground balls, while Jade Caravello contributed 12 goals, four assists and 34 ground balls.
There is a ton of contribution expected back for a run next season.
“We saw a lot of glimpses this year of what this group is capable of doing,” Costigan said. “We are excited to continue to build on the talent and experience we have to ensure more success next year.”
