Pollinator House Workshop June 29

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, is hosting its 2025 Vacation Bible School Road Trip. Students ages 4 to having completed grade 5 are welcome to register. This year’s theme is “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9) and will be reinforced through Bible stories, singing, crafts, experiments and games.
The “road trip” will be held 6-8 p.m. July 13-17 with dinner being served 5:30 p.m. for staff and students. It is free to register but donations are accepted.

Join the Emmaus Rotary Club at Rising River Brewing Co. June 29 for a Pollinator House Workshop. Learn about what pollinator houses do to help bees and other garden friendly insects create a healthy environment in your own backyard. This workshop offers a short educational talk about pollinator houses. Then you will have the opportunity to create your own pollinator house. Appropriate for all ages and family friendly. There is a cost which includes a preassembled pine wood house to paint and fill with pollinator friendly materials. You will have a choice from two house styles. Creative painting supplies and organic fill materials all included. Preregistration is required. No refunds for no-show.
There will be a drawing to win a large one of a kind pollinator house and an assortment of handcrafted, completed houses available for sale as well.
This workshop is a fundraiser to support the Emmaus Rotary Scholarship Foundation, Wilmer Schultz Service Above Self Scholarship; to benefit high school seniors in the East Penn School District with continuing education. The Knauss Homestead, 152 E. Main St., Emmaus, will host a Peach Festival noon to 4 p.m. July 26. Attendance is free but you must register to receive an entrance ticket into the event. There will be more than 40 local artisans, crafters and makers to shop from while enjoying food and drink samples from local wineries, breweries and restaurants.

Join the Emmaus Recreation and Entertainment Commission, Borough of Emmaus, Kelly Auto Group and Vinart Dealership for the 2025 Emmaus Summer Entertainment Series. The services will include Tunes in the Triangle, Shakespeare in the Park and Concerts in the Park. Join them for a free concert at the Emmaus Community Park 6-8 p.m. on the following dates: The Macungie Band will play July 6, The Stacy Gabel band July 13, the Large Flowerheads July 20 and the Galena Brass band July 27. The Emmaus Historical Society and Museum, 218 Main St., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Stop by for a visit and experience the beautiful displays that provide a glimpse into many facets of past community life.
The historical society’s next program and membership meeting will be Sept. 17 for “The Silk Mills of Emmaus, Their History and Heritage.”
On June 28, the historical society is participating in Passport to History Weekend. The museum will be open as usual but the society is also sponsoring a free tour of God’s Acre 11 a.m. to noon. Call the office at 610-966-6591 to reserve a spot.
Currently, the society is looking for Emmaus High School graduation/commencement announcements from the following years: 1917, 1920, 1921, 1923, 1931, 1950, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1991,2000,2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2025. The 1803 House, 55 S. Keystone Ave., Emmaus, will also participate in Passport to History 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 28. The event gives an opportunity for visitors, to explore local history through a variety of museum tours, interactive exhibits, children’s activities and more.
