J. Hubert Pierce, 93, of New Tripoli, died at home May 27, 2025. Born in Pocopson, he was a son of the late Norman Pierce and Sydney (Williamson) Pierce. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. (Kerchner) Pierce for 62 years.

He was an U.S. Marine.

He worked in different jobs and then was a heavy equipment operator until he retired.

He was a union member of Local #542.

He is survived by three children, Robin Schweke and Kimberly Pierce, of New Tripoli and Scott and his wife, Ashlee, of Slatington; grandchildren, Hannah, Allyson, Beth, Kyle, Julian and Sarena and fiancé Matt; great-granddaughter, Juniper.

He was a Scout leader and a woodworker.

He was predeceased by six brothers, John “Bill” Williamson, James Alfred, Norman Luther, Walter Y., Samuel A. and Harry Wesley; sisters, Dorothy Neff, Betty Leto and Sydney Wood.
