J. Hubert Pierce, 93, of the New Tripoli community, died at home on May 27, 2025. Born on May 17, 1932, in Pocopson, he was a son of the late Norman Pierce and Sydney (Williamson) Pierce. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. (Kerchner) Pierce for 62 years.

He was an U.S. Marine.

He worked in different jobs and then was a heavy equipment operator until he retired.

He was a union member of Local #542.

He is survived by three children, Robin Schweke and Kimberly Pierce of New Tripoli and Scott and wife Ashlee of Slatington; six grandchildren, Hannah, Allyson, Beth, Kyle, Julian and Sarena and fiancé Matt; and a great-granddaughter, Juniper.

He was a scout leader and a wood worker.

He was predeceased by six brothers, John “Bill” Williamson Pierce, James Alfred Pierce, Norman Luther Pierce, Walter Y. Pierce, Samuel A. Pierce and Harry Wesley Pierce, and three sisters, Dorothy Neff, Betty Leto and Sydney Wood.
