To the Editor:

Congratulations to the second- and third-grade students of Steckelwood Pops and their music teacher, Ben Stefan, on a wonderful chorus concert last month!

As a mom of a Steckel Elementary School student, I couldn’t wait to hear the full version of the songs my son would hum at home before the event.

What I heard the night of the concert was more wonderful than I could have imagined. I particularly enjoyed “Cover Me in Sunshine” and “Music Changes the World,” and my favorite piece was “Don’t Give Up on Me.” This song brought tears to my eyes.

If you didn’t attend the concert and are interested in hearing this song, Steckel Elementary has implemented a new tradition — at the end of the school year, the chorus students will sing a song from the concert, and it will be recorded and shared. “Don’t Give Up on Me” is posted on the school’s Facebook page as the inaugural song.

Thank you, students, teachers and administration, for an enjoyable musical night. Keep up the good work!
