LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Guest View: Summer at Your Library

Don’t miss the Summer Reading Club kickoff party 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14.

Join us for kindness rock painting and bring some money to enjoy food from Grateful Dogs and Uno Taqueria food trucks.

At noon, Blue Mountain Butterflies will present “The Wonder of Butterflies” and host a butterfly release.

Of course, there will also be sign-ups for the Summer Reading Club and free swag.

Can’t make it in person? You can log in or sign up on the Beanstack app to support literacy for all ages and potentially win some prizes.

Children, teens and adults are all welcome to join.

If you don’t want swag or prizes, signing up still demonstrates your support for the library and family literacy.

This year’s Summer Reading Club theme is “Color Our World” and runs until Aug. 9.

Categories include 0-5 years, 6-11 years, 12-18 years and adults.

While everyone is welcome to join, raffle prizes are reserved for Parkland School District residents and paying nonresident cardholders.

Is your library card expired? Call 610-398-1361 to renew your membership.

Never had a library card? Apply online and the library card will be mailed to you.

Friends of the Library past president, Ila Dietrich, was honored as an Unsung Hero for Lehigh County at a recent ceremony.

You can find Ila and other Friends working at the Book Shop inside the library throughout the year.

They are also preparing for their annual big book sale in August!
