Sullivan stops 23 shots vs. SL

The Emmaus High School boys lacrosse team went 2-1 in nonconference games last week.

Last Tuesday night, the Hornets were defeated by Moravian Academy 12-10. They followed that with an 11-10 win over Southern Lehigh on Thursday and then another 11-10 victory over Governor Mifflin on Saturday.

In the game with the Lions, there were five different goal scorers, led by a hat trick from Kaleb Mains, who also tallied two assists. Gabe Chies, Dylan Maloney and Jewlien Torres all recorded two goals with Chies adding an assist. Alex Younker rounded out the scoring with a goal. Jack Sullivan finished with 12 saves in net.

In the victory over the Spartans, Mains finished with a game-high four goals, while both Chies and Maloney contributed two goals, the former dishing out three assists. Younker and Torres had a goal and an assist each and Anthony Attar added a goal. Sullivan made 23 saves and Colin Garret won 17-of-24 faceoffs.

In the win against Mifflin, Mains scored four goals to lead the way, while Chies netted three goals and both Younker and Maloney added two goals and two assists. Sullivan ended with five saves. Reilly Bechtel won 6 of 13 faceoffs.

Emmaus, which is now 8-8 overall and 5-3 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, finishes its regular season this week with two games, a nonconference matchup at Saucon Valley Tuesday and then a home game against Parkland Thursday night. The EPC playoffs will begin next Wednesday.
