NWL wins four of last five games

The Northwestern Lehigh boys lacrosse team finished its regular season schedule with four wins in its final five games to gain momentum for district playoffs.

Late last week, Northwestern (11-7) defeated Southern Lehigh (10-8) in a game that went a long way to determining the seeding for the playoffs. The win put Northwestern into the third seed spot in the power rankings, meaning that the Tigers will play second seed Moravian Academy (10-6) in the semifinals. The Lions downed Northwestern 10-8 in the final regular season game, keeping Moravian as the second seed. Allentown Central Catholic (16-3) will face Southern Lehigh in the other semifinal.

Against Southern Lehigh, defenses ruled the day with Northwestern beating the Spartans 5-2 in the lowest-scoring game of the season for the Tigers. Tyler Kaas led Northwestern with two goals and an assist. Kendall Wikert, Braydon Uricchio, and Logan Uricchio all added goals in the win with Wikert and Logan Uricchio also chipping in with an assist.

Goalie Dane Kauker made seven saves in the game for Northwestern.

In between the win over the Spartans and the loss to the Lions, Northwestern downed Saucon Valley 11-2.
