The Emmaus baseball team has one game left in the regular season.
The Hornets (11-8 overall; 8-7 EPC) had Monday’s season finale at Parkland postponed to Wednesday.
Emmaus will likely finish a game or two short of reaching the East Penn Conference playoffs, but has secured a spot in the District 11 Class 4A tournament.
Emmaus won two games last week, beating Dieruff and Whitehall.
The Hornets rolled past Dieruff 10-0 in five innings last Tuesday, April 29.
Robbie Barnes allowed four hits over five innings while striking out seven Huskies and walking none.
Tanner Karwacki went 2-for-3 and walked once to reach base three times against Dieruff. He also knocked in two runs and scored once. Josh Diaz went 2-for-3 for Emmaus with a run and an RBI in the win.
The Hornets beat Whitehall 12-6 last Thursday, May 1. Cole Moreau went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs in the game. Ryan Hummell also went 2-for-3 while driving in three runs and scoring once. Logan Rivera scored four times against Whitehall, going 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.
Moreau got the win, allowing just two hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings but earning four runs. Jaden Betz pitched 3 1/3 and allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six batters but allowing no earned runs.
The league tournament is slated to start with quarterfinals Thursday, resuming with semifinals Monday and the title game Wednesday, May 14 at DeSales University. Districts begin the following week.
