Patricia Ann Maggitti

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church member

Patricia Ann Maggitti, 89, of Whitehall, died while a resident at Fellowship Manor. She was the wife of the late Deacon Alexander L. Maggitti for 61 years.

Born in Darby, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Frances (Lesczynski) Abbott.

She graduated from Mater Misericordia Academy (currently Merion Mercy Academy) in Merion.

She worked for 20 years as a secretary for Devon Industries in Allentown.

Since 1956, she was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, where she was also the parish secretary from 1964 to 1969.

She was active in the Cursillo Movement of the Diocese of Allentown beginning in 1973 and remained involved for many years. She was a dedicated hospice volunteer for Diacon Hospice St. John and was involved in the Nobody Dies Alone program, where she comforted many patients.

She is survived by four daughters, Linda Schiller and husband Robert, Gloria Johnson and husband James, Geri Duke and husband Michael Crilley and Paula Engle and husband Scott; two sons, Alexander Jr. and wife Patricia and Patrick and wife Sara; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two grandsons, James Johnson Jr. and Alexander III; two sons-in-law, William Kressly and Jeffrey Duke; three brothers, Harry Abbott Jr., Frank Abbott with Elisabeth and Joseph Abbott with Bernardine; and two sisters, Gertrude Seal with John and Harriet Byrnes with George.
