Mary Sarah “Sally” Sakala

of Allentown

Mary Sarah “Sally” Sakala, also known as Sally McFadden-D’Amore, 89, of Allentown and formerly of Laurys Station, died May 19, 2025, at Phoebe Home Health Care Center, Allentown.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late James B. and the late Isabel M. (Holland) McFadden.

She was a 1953 William Allen High School graduate. While at Allen, she was a head majorette and played various sports.

She earned an associate degree in 1955 from Katherine Gibbs School.

She was self employed as a title agent, owning and operating LandSearch and Settlement Company, Bethlehem, before retiring in 1998. Before that, she worked as a paralegal and accountant for several years and as an executive secretary for Air Products, Allentown.

She was an accomplished Bridge player, achieving the status of American Contract Bridge Life Master in 1983.

She was a member of the Pocono Farms Country Club and the Ladies League for more than 30 years. She played in various leagues and tournaments until the age of 87.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna D’Amore and wife Suzy Armbruster of Laurys Station and Catherine D’Amore of Orefield; a brother, Robert M. McFadden with Maryann of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Renee D’Amore and Steven, Vanessa and Luke Clerico; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Joseph K. D’Amore; a sister, Catherine Powell; and two brothers, John “Jack” and James McFadden

There will be a calling time 10-11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service 11:30 a.m., May 30 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
