World War II veteran
Donald Freeman Heffner, 98, of Macungie, died May 12, 2025. He was the husband of the late Irene H. (Reifsnyder) Heffner. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Freeman and Pearl (Fink) Heffner.
He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1945. He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.
He retired from Air Products, Inc.
He was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church. He was a member of AARP, Emmaus Senior Citizens, member and past president of Macungie Senior Citizens, member of Lower Lehigh Lions Club and member of the Macungie VFW. He was also a member of the Macungie Fire Company and was a Cub Scout leader.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Heffner and Greg Fiore, of Longboat Key, Fla., Terri and her husband, Ray Reeder, of Bath and Janice and her husband, Dennis Koch, of Allentown; sons, Larry and his wife, Kathy, of Macungie and Todd, of Macungie; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Arlan.
