Lifeguards, gate guards and the manager are all in place for the 2025 season at Coplay’s Parkway Pool.

At the May 13 meeting of Coplay Borough Council, the employment of staff was approved, clearing the way for the pool to open June 14. Hours will be noon-7 p.m.

Alexis Quach has been named the pool manager.

Lifeguards are Brogan Emery, Jayden Geiger, Luke Makoul, Zachary Kresge, Elijah Fox, Logan Lemak, Kacee Medei and Josiah Hippert.

Alyssa Miller and Sophia Andre will be the gate guards.

In other business, council approved a traffic request for Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Motorcycle Trauma Survivor Ride.

The event will take place May 31. The traffic light at Second and Chestnut streets will be held for a longer-than-normal duration approximately 1:05 p.m.

Ride participants will conclude their ride at Keystone Harley in Whitehall.

Coplay Fire Department is handling the event details.

A resolution was approved by council authorizing Tiffany Benson, borough administrator and secretary-treasurer, and Lou Bodish, borough council president, as signers of a Greenway, Trails and Recreation grant. It has not been decided how those funds will be spent.

Council will next meet June 3, for a workshop, and June 10, for a regular meeting. Both are held 7 p.m. at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.
