The farmers market is now open 3-6 p.m. every Tuesday at Municipal Park on Laubach Avenue. Stop by for a day of local farmers, specialty gardeners and food vendors.

Northampton VFW Post 4714 will conduct memorial tributes at a number of local cemeteries May 26.

The schedule includes 8:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, 9:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.

The ceremony will consist of the national anthem, a prayer, song, roll call, rifle salute, taps and “Amazing Grace.”

Additionally, Northampton Joint Veterans Association, consisting of American Legion Post 353, Catholic War Veterans Post 454 and VFW Post 4714, will conduct a memorial ceremony May 26, beginning 11 a.m., at the veterans plaza, 14th Street and Dewey Avenue.

Northampton Area School District community education is currently offering classes.

Coed basketball with Matthew Heisler is planned for 10-11:30 a.m. May 24 and 31 and June 7 in the gymnasium at Lehigh Elementary School.

Lap and open swim is planned for 7:30-8:30 p.m. May 28 in the natatorium at Northampton Area Middle School.

Participants do not need to be NASD residents to join but must be at least 15 years old. Register at nasdschools.org under the community tab.

Northampton Fire Department 42 is hosting its third annual fire cadet camp July 7-11. The camp, open to borough residents only until further notice, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day with a graduation ceremony July 12.
