Eleanor L. Long, 90, of Emmaus, died peacefully May 13, 2025, in her home. She was the wife of the late Emory J. Long. Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna (Spreckleman) Heussmann.
She was an accountant who worked at Semmel Excavating before her retirement.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years.
She was a talented oil painter. She enjoyed serving others and she impacted the lives of many individuals. She loved her golden retrievers and family was extremely important to her, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristina Ann and her husband, Robin R. Schuster, of Emmaus; grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, Scott Kiernan, of Hershey, Justin Long and his wife, Meagan, of Denver, Colo., Sarah Schuster, of Denver, Colo. and Jared Schuster, of Emmaus; great-grandchildren, SJ, Finley and Zoey Kiernan.
She was predeceased by sons, Terence Bruce and Daryl Shawn.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. May 24, in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 18049. Viewing 10:30-11 a.m. in the church.
