June 12 is the last day of school

I cannot believe I am announcing the last days of school!

We have an early dismissal June 11 with the high school and middle school dismissing 12:15 p.m. and the elementary school 1:15 p.m. The last day is June 12, with the high school and middle school dismissing 10:30 a.m. and the elementary school 11:15 a.m. Woo Hoo!

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding a clothing drive fundraiser. Bring your clean, lightly used clothes and shoes to the high school auditorium side entrance between 9 a.m. and noon May 17. It’s time to clean out those closets!

Salisbury Township schools will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday May 23 and 26.

Salisbury Elementary School’s end of year concerts and assemblies are approaching. The kindergarten students will perform 9:15 a.m. May 27; first grade 9:15 a.m. May 28; second grade 9:15 a.m. May 29 and third grade 9:15 a.m. May 30.

The SES Ice Cream Festival is right around the corner. This huge event, held noon to 4 p.m. June 7, needs lots of volunteers. There are two ways you can help: First - volunteer to work a stand or a game. There are positions inside or outside and for every two hours you volunteer, you will receive 10 game tickets to spend. The second way you can volunteer is to make a donation to the basket raffle. There are links to sign up on the SES PTO Facebook page.

The May curriculum and technology committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. May 14, immediately followed by the school board meeting 8 p.m.

Update on the summer camps at the Wildlands Conservancy: Due to a bridge collapse, the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary is closed until further notice.

Yard waste drop offs are now open. The Franko site will be open May 19, 22 and 24. Devonshire will be open May 15 and 17. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. PLEASE NOTE: Drop-offs will not be open May 26 for the Memorial Day holiday.
