Macungie Flea Market May 10

Grace Lutheran Church will offer its free community meal 5-6:30 p.m. May 9 in the fellowship hall. Take-out meals are also available. Call the church office at 610-966-3325 for the menu.

Grace Lutheran Church holds a weekly free food distribution 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays in May – May 7, 14, 21 and 28, for East Penn School District residents. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.

The Macungie Flea Market will take place 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 at Macungie Memorial Park. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Macungie Institute and Macungie Memorial Park.

The Macungie Farmers Market will open for the season 4-7 p.m. May 15 on Lumber Street, just off Main Street, Macungie. They will continue Thursday evenings throughout the summer. They are looking for vendors/artisans/crafters for the 2025 season. Applications are available at www.macungiefarmersmarket.com.

Cruise Night will be 3 p.m. May 17 at Macungie Memorial Park. Vehicles will start arriving 2 p.m. and the DJ starts 4 p.m. Refreshments are available. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

The Alburtis Seniors will meet noon May 21 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. There will be a potluck buffet lunch followed by a meeting and bingo. There is a small charge. Bring a covered dish. For more information, call Doris at 610-966-3653.

Macungie pool memberships are being accepted. The pool will open for the 2025 season May 24. Weekday hours are noon to 8 p.m.; weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Toddler time is offered 11 a.m. to noon weekdays. More information is available at www.MacungiePark.com.

Macungie Memorial VFW Post 9264 will present Macungie Memorial Day Observance May 26. There will be a flag raising at the Veterans Memorial in Macungie Memorial Park 10 a.m., immediately followed by the Memorial Day Program at the bandshell 10:30 a.m.

The Macungie Institute will continue to offer free weekly Pinochle and Mahjong Wednesdays in 2025. Pinochle is 10 a.m. to noon and Mahjong is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Zumba with Rashida is offered on Mondays 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays 2-3 p.m. For more information, go to www.macungieinstitute.com.

New members are welcome to join the Macungie Town Beautification Committee. They meet 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every other month at the Macungie Institute.

Macungie Borough Council has in-person public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meetings will be 7:30 p.m. May 19 and June 2.
