Union Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville, will host a Designer Purse Bingo May 18. Doors open 11:30 a.m.; bingo starts 1 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

Barbara Crooker will share some of her poems at a poetry reading event 10:15 a.m. May 18 at the Union Lutheran Faith Forum. Her work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies and has received numerous awards, including the 2003 Thomas Merton Poetry of the Sacred Award.

The Union Lutheran Youth Group will meet to play mini golf at Rolling Hills in Schnecksville 7 p.m. May 15. Girls Night Out for Union Lutheran Women will be held at Thunderhead Lodge, Route 309, Andreas 6 p.m. May 22.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will host a basket social 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17. Delicious food may be purchased for lunch.

On Primary Election Day, May 20, NOVA will have ham and cheese sandwiches and pies for sale. Choose from: peach, cherry, blueberry and shoofly pies.
