Louise H. Halasovski, 82, of New Tripoli, died peacefully March 26, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Eckhart) McKellin.

A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1960, she furthered her education by attending cosmetology school, which paved the way for her long and fulfilling career as a hairdresser. Her warm personality and skilled hands made her a favorite among clients. In addition to her work in the beauty industry, she also enjoyed her time in mail order sales, where she connected with people from all walks of life.

Her zest for life was evident through her many interests and hobbies. She was a former Girl Scout leader who instilled values of courage, confidence and character in young girls.

As a member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed the camaraderie and festive gatherings that celebrated the joy of womanhood. She also worked as a school bus aid for the Northwestern Lehigh School District for 15 years. Her creative spirit shone brightly in her handcrafted jewelry, which she lovingly made and sold.

An outdoor enthusiast, she found solace and joy in nature. She was often found tending to her garden, horseback riding at Conowingo, hiking and fishing. Her adventures at Hawk Mountain and her love for animals spoke to her deep appreciation for the natural world. Her passion for life extended to the dance floor and the bowling alley, where she shared laughter and good times with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, John; son, Dennis Decker and his wife, Kelly, of Bethlehem; daughter, Shari Kauffman and her husband, Dean, of Allentown; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Zachary and Bethany; canine companion, Kitchi.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Decker in 1977; brothers, Edward, Dale and Gerald.
