After dropping its first two games of the 2025 regular season, the Parkland High School girls lacrosse team responded with a five-game win streak that took them to the end of March.
But the start of April, which began play in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, was unkind to the Trojans as they lost their opening two conference matchups.
Parkland lost 10-9 in overtime to Freedom last Tuesday, April 1, and then fell at Easton 13-4 on Thursday night.
It was a back-and-forth game for the entirety against the Patriots. Freedom got on top early as it led 4-3 after the first quarter, but Parkland used a strong second quarter, outscoring the Patriots 3-1 to take a 6-5 halftime advantage.
The two teams were even in the third as Parkland kept its one-goal lead heading into the final frame, but Freedom got one more in the period to force extra time, where it was the first to find the back of the net and end the game via golden goal.
Jade Caravello and Addison Winfield led the attack, both finishing with three goals. Lila Temchatin, Samantha Schippell and Milla Hahn recorded one goal each. Olivia Esteban added one assist. Audrina Stewart finished with five saves in net.
In the game against the Red Rovers, Easton took full control in the second quarter, where it extended a 3-1 lead after the first quarter into a 10-3 advantage at halftime. The Trojans were held to just one goal in the second half.
There were four goal scorers for Parkland, as Temchatin, Hahn, Winfield and Anna Sensinger all found the back of the net. Stewart made 10 saves.
Parkland fell to 5-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
