Parkland girls lax beats SV
The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team began its 2025 regular season last week with three nonconference games. The Trojans dropped the first two, but ended the week on a positive note with a victory.
Parkland lost 16-5 in the season opener at Southern Lehigh last Monday, March 17, fell in the home opener 12-5 against Abington Heights on Wednesday then defeated Saucon Valley 16-7 Thursday.
In the game with the Spartans, the Trojans jumped out to a fast start, as they outscored them 3-1 in the first quarter. From that point on, Southern Lehigh outscored Parkland 15-2, including a seven-goal second quarter to go on top 8-4 at halftime and never looked back.
Anna Sensinger scored a team-high four goals for the Trojans. Lila Temchatin tallied one goal and two assists and Milla Hahn had an assist. Katie Generose finished with nine saves and Audrina Stewart added two saves.
Against the Comets, Parkland trailed just 3-2 after the opening quarter, but then Abington outscored them 8-2 over the next two quarters, including 4-1 in the second to lead 7-3 at halftime. Addison Winfield and Samantha Schippell both recorded two goals and Hahn rounded out the scoring with one. Temchatin and Jade Caravello each contributed an assist. Generose tallied two saves and Stewart had five.
In the win over the Panthers, the Trojans got off to a fast start, scoring seven goals in the first quarter to lead 7-1 after one. They took an 11-2 advantage into halftime and stayed even with Saucon Valley in the second half, each team scoring five goals. Sensinger finished with four goals and an assist. Winfield tallied three goals and two assists and Temchatin recorded three goals and an assist. Hahn totaled two goals and Caravello, Schippell and Olivia Esteban each added one goal with the latter contributing an assist. Stewart made seven saves.
Parkland has three more nonconference games this week. The Trojans were at Moravian Academy on Tuesday and host Delaware Valley on Friday night before traveling to take on Westtown School on Saturday afternoon.
