The Northwestern Lehigh boys lacrosse team has yet to be able to put together an extended number of wins this season and has gone 3-3 since winning its first two games of the season.
In the past week, the Tigers suffered a tough loss to Southern Lehigh and then bounced back to pick up a win over Saucon Valley to keep from losing two straight for the first time this season.
Northwestern showed no mercy against the Panthers, pounding them 16-3 behind six goals by Kendall Wikert. Tyler Kaas, who leads the team with 16 goals, scored four times in the win with Braydon Uricchio and Grayson Christman both scoring twice, while Logan Uricchio and Carter Zentz both added a goal in the offensive onslaught.
In addition to his goal, Logan Uricchio assisted on four goals. Sophomore Harrison Wertman made one save in goal for the Tigers.
Wikert now has 15 goals on the season and Braydon Uricchio has picked up 11. In goal, junior Dane Kauker has 57 saves for the Tigers.
In the loss to Southern Lehigh, Braydon Uricchio scored three goals and goalkeeper Kauker made eight saves in goal, but the Spartans were able to battle back from a 3-1 deficit in the first quarter to win 8-5. Michael Lagowy and Braxton Lakatosh added goals for the Tigers.
Northwestern (5-3) faces EPC powerhouse Parkland (8-1) tonight before hosting Bethlehem Catholic (0-7) on Monday.
