Emmaus boys volleyball wins first three games

The Emmaus High School boys volleyball team has had an unbeaten start to its 2025 regular season. The Hornets won their first three matches, two of which were in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.

They started the season by sweeping Central Bucks West in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 31-29, 25-14 in a nonconference match on March 15. Emmaus then took down Whitehall, 3-1, by scores of 26-24, 25-13, 24-26, 25-13, last Tuesday in the home opener. The Hornets ended the week with a 3-1 victory at Easton by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 22-25, 25-16.

Against the Buckshots, three players finished with double figures in kills, including Lucas Mondin, who led the team with 14 kills. Colin Holden and Grayson Answini tallied 11 and 10 kills, respectively, with the latter adding 11 digs. Ben Skekel contributed 35 assists. Christopher Mitchell totaled three blocks and Josiah Brown added nine digs.

In the victory over the Zephyrs, both Mondin and Holden finished with 10 kills with Holden adding five blocks and Mondin seven service aces and 14 digs. Cameron Furniss and Brayden Dang both had eight kills. Skekel contributed 35 assists.

In the win at the Red Rovers, Answini led the attack with 11 kills and Bilaal Kerim had nine. Mitchell was a force at the net with eight blocks. Jude Boyle paced the defense with 12 digs and Skekel added 34 assists, while Jayden Perez contributed 17 assists.

Emmaus hosted Pocono Mountain East Tuesday and is at Allen Thursday night before competing in the Bobcat Invitational at Northeastern High School on Saturday. The Green Hornets then host Parkland next Tuesday and Pocono Mountain West on Wednesday.
