Emmaus boys tennis team bounces back from first loss

The Emmaus boys tennis team suffered its first loss of the season last week, but the Hornets bounced back with a win a day later.

Emmaus improved to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in East Penn Conference play with wins in three of its four matches last week.

The Hornets beat Southern Lehigh 5-0 last Tuesday, March 25, in a nonconference match.

Nick Stone, Chris Stone and Caleb Brown won singles matches against the Spartans. Caleb Brashear and Ayden Kegley won their doubles match against the Spartans, while Cole = and Sai Uppiretia took the other doubles match.

Emmaus beat Pleasant Valley 7-0 last Wednesday in an EPC contest.

Nick Stone, Chris Stone and Brown won singles matches against the Bears, while Brashear/Kegley and Stuchko/Uppiretia won the second and third doubles matches. Quinn Durkin teamed up with Aarya Sevak to win at No. 4 doubles for Emmaus.

Unbeaten Liberty handed Emmaus its first setback of the season, 5-2 last Friday in an EPC match. Nick and Chris Stone won singles matches against the Hurricanes.

Emmaus bounced back with a 7-0 nonleague win over Blue Mountain Saturday.

Nick Stone, Chris Stone and Brown won singles matches against the Eagles, while Brashear/Kegley and Stuchko/Uppiretia and Aba Diop/Sevak won doubles matches for the Hornets.
