EHS boys volleyball wins tournament
The Emmaus High School boys volleyball team has been on a tear to start the 2025 regular season.
The Hornets won the Red Rover Invitational at Easton Middle School Saturday, March 22, for the second time in the last three seasons. They also won both of their Eastern Pennsylvania Conference matches last week to remain undefeated.
At Easton, Emmaus finished unbeaten on the day, sweeping Palumbo, Central Bucks South, Notre Dame Green Pond and Southern Lehigh in pool play before capturing the championship in straight sets over Council Rock South. Ben Skekel and Colin Holden were named to the All-Tournament team.
In EPC action, the Hornets swept Pocono Mountain East last Tuesday, March 25, on the road by scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-23, and then swept Allen in straight sets that Thursday by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-21.
In the win over the Cardinals, Lucas Mondin led the offense with eight kills and three digs. Sander Houtz finished with six kills. Miles Boulrice recorded five kills. Jayden Perez contributed 30 assists. Holden had three kills and three blocks.
In the victory against the Canaries, Holden paced the attack with nine kills and had three blocks and two digs. Boulrice tallied eight kills, two blocks and two digs. Both Mondin and Chris Mitchell contributed six kills with the latter adding three blocks. Josiah Brown led the defense with six digs. Each of Skekel and Perez netted 15 assists.
Emmaus, which improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference, hosted two more conference matches this week in Parkland Tuesday and Pocono Mountain West on Wednesday. The Hornets are at Nazareth on Thursday.
