Joseph T. Peters Sr., 71, of Schnecksville, died May 22, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of the late Kathy A. (Trexler) Peters.

Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Helen (Tomko) Peters.

He served in the U.S. National Guard and was awarded a Pennsylvania service ribbon with a Silver Star.

He was a maintenance operator at Lehigh County Game Preserve for 29 years before retiring in 2006. After his retirement, he worked part time at Lehigh County Compost for about 10 years.

He is survived by a son, Joseph T. Jr. with Dawn of Unityville; two daughters, Tausha C. Kauffman with Kyle of Allentown and Melissa D. Sabbar with Mohammed of Schnecksville; two stepsons, Adam Q. and Christopher W. Keim, both of Schnecksville; six siblings, Susan O’Brien of Clearwater, Fla., Lois Kern-Cerando of Allentown, Lawrence Jr. with Sue of Whitehall, Donald with Deanna of Orefield, Barbara Keys with Steven of Ironton and John with Tina of York; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
