2024 Freddy Awards at State Theatre May 23 on WFMZ; top nominees: Bangor, 17; Freedom 16; Emmaus, 14

Bangor Area High School received 17 Freddy nominations, Freedom High School received 16 Freddy nominations and Emmaus High School received 14 Freddy nominations in the 2024 Freddy Awards.

Also nominated in the category of Musical: Dieruff, Nazareth Area and Parkland.

The 2024 Freddy Awards Ceremony will be telecast 7 p.m. May 23, State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, on 69 WFMZ-TV and wfmz.com.

Individual Freddy nominations include: Kaylee Babiak, Hackettstown; Julia Ruhf, Freedom; Jenna Seasholtz, Southern Lehigh and Jackson Hunsicker, Northern Lehigh, each of whom is nominated for their third year in a row.

Babiak previously received two Freddy Awards.

Seasholtz previously received one Freddy Award.

Tickets for the awards ceremony are made available through the participating schools.

The Freddy Awards Preview Night Dress Rehearsal May 22 is open to the public.

Rehearsals of the opening and closing numbers for the telecast, featuring four students from each of the 29 participating schools, began the evening of May 8 in the State Theatre, Easton.

The nominations were announced during the noon May 9 newscast on 69 WFMZ-TV.
