The Whitehall volleyball team picked up a couple more wins in recent action.

They continue to be among the top teams in the EPC as well as the District 11 playoff races.

In the EPC, Whitehall sits at 6-2 as of Tuesday, tied with Freedom and behind Emmaus (9-0) and Nazareth and Parkland (both 7-1).

Liberty and Northampton are just a half-game back at 6-3.

In the district, the Zephs are 10-3 and again in fourth, behind the Hornets, Trojans and Blue Eagles.

“Season is going really well at this point,” said head coach George Cowitch. “It was very nice to beat Parkland two weeks ago, a good win for us.”

Two players who always seem to be on the scoresheet are Jack Kocher and Ethan Ringenberger.

“Jack Kocher and Ethan Ringenberger have been great for us this season,” Cowitch said. “Ethan has surpassed the 1,000 assist mark for his career and is approaching 500 career kills. He will be our first setter with 500 kills, and 1,000 assists.

“Kocher just surpassed 800 kills for his career and is approaching 900.”

The team swept Quakertown 25-18, 25-14 and 25-11.

Kocher had 16 kills and 11 digs with Omar Tembo adding 9 kills. Peter Tabarani had 6 kills and 5 blocks and Ringenberger chipped in with 22 assists.

Brandon Bird had 18 digs.

The Zephs also made quick work of Pocono Mountain East 25-14, 25-23 and 25-14.

“Overall, our team is looking good for a playoff run,” Cowitch added.
