Egypt/Cementon: Purchase pool passes, register for Camp Whitehall

Whitehall Township has announced the dates and times to register for Camp Whitehall and purchase summer 2024 pool passes at the Whitehall Township Building, 3219 MacArthur Road.

Cash or checks are accepted for payment. No credit cards will be accepted. You must have identification with you.

Register for camp 4:30-7 p.m. April 25, April 30-May 2 and May 7-9 and again 9:30-11:30 a.m. April 26, April 29-May 3 and May 6-10.

Additional registration times are available by appointment from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. To request an appointment, email bhibbler@whitehalltownship.com.

Camp Whitehall will be held at Hokendauqua Playground, 3417 Lehigh St., for kindergarten to sixth-grade students. There is no busing available. Bring a lunch and drinks. There is a cost.

Register per week or per season. The seven weeks of camp are held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from June 17 to Aug. 2.

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, will host a number of music events, including Circus Rejects 6 p.m. April 25, Ric Toole and the Band of Northern Aggression with a 6 p.m. seating and 7 p.m. concert April 27 and Lou Franco Project 7 p.m. May 3.

Members attend for free, but there is a cost for guests and nonmembers.

The VFW is also holding other events.

The resin ocean wave pour on a cheese board program, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 26, is sold out.

A free Civil War lecture, presented by Carl F. Rost, of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, will be held 12:30 p.m. May 4.

A crystal, candle, aromatherapy and wine bingo is set for May 26. Registration is 1 p.m., and games begin 2 p.m.

Experience a Civil War re-enactment and encampment, to be held 9 a.m.-7 p.m. April 27 and 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. April 28 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.

Steel Creek will perform 7-10 p.m. May 17 at Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon.

The first joint Lehigh Valley Knights cornhole charity tournament will take place, rain or shine, noon May 18 at Egypt Memorial Park, 4540 Hillcrest Lane.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. There will be a kids’ cornhole area as well as 50/50 and basket raffles.

All proceeds benefit Knights of Columbus charities. Bring a food donation for local food pantries.

Register a two-person team via the Scoreholio app under Lehigh Valley Knights or just come cheer for your favorite team. There is a cost to register a team.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative will host a free community meal 4-6 p.m. May 21 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt. Meals are guaranteed for the first 100 guests.
