Margaret J. Masters

Margaret J. “Peg” Masters, 98, a longtime resident of Whitehall, died peacefully March 14, 2024, while a guest at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall Township.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of late Joseph and Pauline (Osvatics) Toth.

She was the wife of Thomas L. Masters for 38 years at the time of his death in 1985.

A 1943 graduate of Allentown High School, she enjoyed being a homemaker and active member of the community most of her life.

She was a charter member and past president of the Whitehall Women’s Club, member of the Fullerton Memorial Park and Playground Association and Whitehall Exchangettes, and past president of St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society.

Her survivors include daughters Barbara L. Zukowski and husband, Chester, of High Point, N.C., and Patricia A. Karo and husband, Jeffrey, of Whitehall; son Gregory T. Masters of Whitehall; grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Nicholas, Benjamin, Christine and Jeffrey; 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Jonathan Karo, and sister, Lillian Finn.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. David L. James 10 a.m. March 22 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay. There will be no viewing or calling hour.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
