Elizabeth “Betty” K. DeLong, 96, of Allentown, died March 12, 2024, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Berkemeyer) Bieret.

She graduated from William Allen High School and earned a nursing certificate from Allentown Nursing School, Class of 1948. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Harwick, Dr. E.J. Carpenter and worked in Washington state and Oklahoma.

She was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, where she volunteered after retiring as a nurse.

She is survived by a daughter, Louise; stepson, Robert; grandchildren, Brian, Jill Schlimme, Joseph Beck, Scott, Virginia “Ginny” Beck, Rebecca Bauer, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Cameron Bauer, Taelyn, Cassie, Blake Bauer, Jacob, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Joane. She was predeceased by stepson, Richard “Zeke”; stepdaughter, Billie Beck; brothers, James and William Bieret.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. March 20 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 3 to 4 p.m.
