Alma E. Clauser

Alma E. Clauser, 92, of South Whitehall Township, died March 14, 2024, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, where she had been residing.

She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Clauser.

Born Feb. 23, 1932, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edgar W. and Dorothy I. (Dietrich) Kunkel.

She worked at the former Hutt & Wasserman felt hat manufacturing company, South 12th St., Allentown, part time at Keystone Memorial, Allentown, and was a newspaper carrier for the Whitehall-Coplay Press for seven years before retiring in 2012.

She received fourth place in the 2011 Pennsylvania Newspaper Carrier of the Year Competition, Senior Division.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Her survivors include sons Mark W. and John T. Clauser, both of Allentown; brother Frederick P. Kunkel of Allentown; granddaughter Rachel Ann Clauser of Long Beach, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Mary E. Kroninger, Harley E. Kunkel Sr., and Maybelle A.R. Furchner; and stepmother Althea (Province) Kunkel.

Her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. on March 22 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with Pastor Kayli L. Freeman officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at New Bethel Cemetery, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton.
