EMMAUS: “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Broadway Version)”

The popular fairy tale, with a social justice point-of-view, waltzes to the stage at Emmaus High School with “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Broadway Version),” 7 p.m. March 20, 21, 22, 23; 2 p.m. March 23, 24, auditorium, Emmaus High School, 500 Macungie Avenue, Emmaus.

With music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and book by Oscar Hammerstein II and Douglas Carter Beane, the 2013 Broadway debut garnered nine Tony Award nominations, receiving one Tony Award.

Director Jill E. Kuebler is assisted by Music Director Julia Wallace and Choreographer Jerri L. Brown. Set design is by Chris Kollar. Costumes and props are by Diane DiDona.

Featured songs include “In My Own Little Corner,” Impossible, It’s Possible,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” “Stepsister’s Lament” and “A Lovely Night.”
