NAHS Theatre Company students to perform ‘Cinderella’

The popular fairy tale, with a social justice point of view, waltzes to the stage with “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” planned for 7 p.m. March 8, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 9 and 2 p.m. March 10 in the auditorium at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave., Northampton.

With music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and book by Oscar Hammerstein II and Douglas Carter Beane, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical debuted in 2013.

Assisting NAHS Theatre Company Director Christine Marto are Hannah Milagio, vocal director; Gianna Neal, choreographer; Carolyn Peters, costume designer; and Tony Beleno, set designer.

Featured songs include “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” “Stepsister’s Lament” and “A Lovely Night.”
