Coplay: Library holding sandwich sale

Coplay Public Library, 49 S. Fifth St., is having a hoagie and sandwich sale until March 9. Pickup will be 4-6 p.m. March 13.

Options include meat or tuna hoagies and ham and cheese or tuna sandwiches. Payment for the orders is required when your order is placed.

The library is also collecting nonperishable food items March 11-April 30 for Coplay Food Bank.

Receive a coupon for a free book to be used at the next book sale, set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 5 and 6, if you donate before April 6. Limit one coupon per person.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is holding a cash bingo March 10 in its social hall. Doors open 1 p.m., and bingo starts 2 p.m.

The event, a fundraiser for Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative, will feature a $200 jackpot and food. Bring a nonperishable food item.

Coplay Sports is holding an A.B.C. (Alcohol, Baskets and Cigars) bingo benefit March 16 at Coplay Social Hall, 165 Cherry St. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins 6 p.m.

The event will benefit the Hoderewski family.

There is a discount on tickets if purchased in advance.

American Club of Coplay is planning to hold a ham/cash raffle March 17. Doors open noon, and raffles will be held 1-5 p.m.

Lunch and refreshments are free for ticket holders.

Buy tickets at the club, 32 N. Third St., or the hoagie shop, 300 Cherry St.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is holding a St. Patrick’s Day dance 2-5 p.m. March 17.

Entertainment is by the Joe Kroboth Band. A special appearance by the Irish dancers of O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance is planned.

There is a cost.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
