The Rev. Dr. Christopher Noel Hershman, 69, of Allentown, died Jan. 29, 2024. Born in Reading, he was a son of Gloria M. (Augustine) Beamesderfer and the late Raymond Hershman.

He was the owner and operator of Covenant Counseling Services in Allentown.

He was a 1973 Wilson High School graduate, a graduate of Kutztown University and a graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He graduated from Eastern University with a doctorate in marriage and family therapy.

He was a pastor at St. John’s, Fogelsville and at St. James Lutheran, Allentown. He wrote a religious column for The Morning Call newspaper.

He served as an adjunct for Chestnut Hill College. Above all, he was a loving father, therapist and pastor.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by children, Alexander D., Nicole S.; sister, Kimberly J.; his former wife, Patricia J. He was predeceased by his brother, Todd W. Beamesderfer; stepfather, Donald Beamesderfer.
