SHS girls basketball team still searching for first league win

The opening week of 2024 was not kind to Salisbury with the scheduled opening against Northern Lehigh and Notre Dame Green Pond. The Falcons dropped both games, leaving Salisbury with a 0-7 record in the Colonial League and a 2-8 overall record on the season.

In a 68-19 loss to the Bulldogs (3-4, 6-6), Desiree Nales led Salisbury with 13 points and Kendra Morgan had six. Northern Lehigh’s Aubrey Pollard (21 points) and Katelyn Barthold (20 points) led the Lady Bulldogs.

Morgan came back against Notre Dame (8-0, 10-2) and tied with the Crusaders Emily Lessig with a game-high 14 points. Salisbury also had three points from Ava Smarch and two from Anissa Slack in a 60-19 loss.

Unfortunately, the schedule will not give Salisbury much of a break over the next week. Salisbury hosts Pen Argyl (5-3, 7-4) before playing at Bangor (5-3, 7-4) and then returning home against Wilson (1-8, 2-9) on Saturday.
