To the Editor:

My kids are always telling me not to turn on the radio because it always gets me upset. Well today, I made the mistake of doing just that. And what is the first story I hear? A school in New York City was temporarily closed so illegal immigrants can stay there.

Yep, our own American children are now secondary to illegal immigrants. So, no in-class learning, no lunch meal, etc. Can somebody explain to me what is going on in this country?

However, I do have one solution. I have now lived in Emmaus for over 25 years. And I have learned it is a very liberal, Democratic area starting with the school board and of course, all the “feel good” signs I see around town saying “Hate has No Home Here” or something like East Penn School District is for everybody.

Well, with that in mind, let me suggest our mayor contact Gov. [Greg] Abbott of Texas and tell him we are now a sanctuary city and he should start sending busloads of illegal immigrants up to our borough. I am sure that lots of the people in Emmaus would be happy to take them in to their homes. Or, am I wrong? Or, are they really thinking it’s ok for other cities but keep them out of our borough. I wonder!
