Charles D. Reifinger

Charles D. Reifinger, 92, of Macungie, died Jan. 11, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Julianna E. (Emmet) Reifinger. Born in Alburtis, he was the son of the late Henry O. and Althea M. (Conrad) Reifinger.

Before retiring, he worked as an elementary and junior high teacher, beginning in the Allentown School District and lastly for the East Penn School District. Along with teaching, he taught conservation and outdoor education at Wildlands Conservancy.

He was a singer and songwriter and was the founder of the “Sounds of Nashville Country Music Show” in the Lehigh Valley. He wrote the song “Stand Up For America,” which was performed in Nashville and charted on the Top 100 of the Christian Country Music Association.

He served in the U.S. National Guard Reserves.

He is survived by daughters, Pamela R., of Macungie; Jill R., wife of the late Mark C. Bernhard, of Kempton; grandchildren, Blaine Martin, Dale Bernhard, Danielle Erkert and her husband, Dillon; great-grandchildren Everlynn Martin, Mason Erkert. He was predeceased by a sister, Dolores.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown. Calling will begin 9:30 a.m.
