Macungie Borough Council remembers Roseann Schleicher

Macungie Borough Council President Ron Karboski paid tribute to former council member Roseann Schleicher at the Dec. 4 meeting.

“An important member of our community and former member of council lost her courageous battle with Amyloidosis,” Karboski said.

Schleicher died Nov. 21.

“In her civil duty, she served Borough Council for seven and a half years from 2014 to May 17, 2021, the date she felt compelled to resign due to health.

“While on council, she served in the capacity of vice president for five of those years.

“Roseann was certainly a community-oriented individual. She demonstrated her love for Macungie by being very active with the Town Beautification and the Macungie Holiday Committee,” Karboski said.

Schleicher also volunteered at the Macungie Farmers Market and could be found assisting with the cooking demonstrations.

“I could always see Roseann at the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in which she also help organize.”

Karboski also noted her weeding and planting flowers in the Macungie Flower Park in the spring.

“Macungie Borough is always less fortunate after losing such a citizen. I’m sure she will be sorely missed by many.”
